Faðir hans sagði honum svo að flýja til Bandaríkjanna. Þar opnaði hann skóla í sjálfsvarnarlistum, og fékk svo hlutverk sem aðstoðarmaður Green Hornet, Kato, í sjónvarpsþáttum um ofurhetjuna. Í kjölfarið varð hann mikil kvikmyndastjarna í myndum eins og The Big Boss og Enter the Dragon.
