Fyrrverandi tenniskappi (Ray Milland) sem sestur er í helgan stein, undirbýr það sem á að vera fullkomið morð á eiginkonu sinni (Grace Kelly) sem hefur átt í framhjáhaldi með ungum rithöfundi (Robert Cummings) en er til eitthvað sem heitir fullkomið morð? Frábært handrit, fínir leikarar og frábær leikstjórn meistara Hitchcock einkenna þessa mynd og það er ekki að ástæðulausu að hún hefur verið endurgerð 2 sinnum, fyrst fyrir sjónvarp árið 1981 þar sem Christopher Plummer, Angie Dickinson og Anthony Quayle voru í aðalhlutverkum og svo aftur árið 1998 undir nafninu A Perfect Murder með Michael Douglas og Gwyneth Paltrow en sú upprunalega er langbest af þeim auk þess sem hinar tvær hafa ekki fallegustu leikkonu ever innanborðs þ. e. hina yndislegu Grace Kelly.

Allar standa þessar endurgerðir þó mynd Hitchcocks langt að baki, enda var gamli meistarinn enginn aukvisi á sínu sviði.
